Event Overview

AYWF’s flagship continental gathering.

The African Youth Water Forum is pleased to announce the African Youth Water Summit 2027, scheduled for 22–23 September 2027 in Accra, Ghana.

The Summit will be AYWF’s flagship continental gathering, bringing together youth leaders, governments, water and WASH institutions, development partners, researchers, universities, civil society organizations, private-sector actors, innovators and international participants.

Under the theme “Youth Driving Water Security in Africa: From Voice to Action,” the Summit will provide a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, youth innovation, policy engagement, partnership development and practical action on Africa’s water future.

The Summit is expected to host approximately 300 participants, including delegates from across Africa and other parts of the world.

Summit Objectives

  • Strengthen meaningful youth participation in water governance and decision-making.
  • Create a continental and international platform for dialogue on Africa’s water future.
  • Showcase youth-led research, innovation, entrepreneurship and community solutions.
  • Connect young water leaders with governments, development partners, investors, universities and water-sector institutions.
  • Promote evidence-based policy dialogue, advocacy and knowledge exchange.
  • Build partnerships and resource opportunities for youth-led water and WASH initiatives.
  • Develop practical commitments and recommendations for advancing water security.
  • Strengthen AYWF’s continental network and visibility.

International Delegates

Planning your travel.

International delegates should plan to arrive in Accra on 20–21 September 2027. Departure may be scheduled from 24 September 2027, depending on individual travel arrangements.

Detailed information concerning registration, accommodation, visa-support documentation, local transportation and delegate services will be published later.

AYWF cannot guarantee visa issuance or immigration approval. All participants will remain responsible for meeting the applicable entry requirements for Ghana.
